A draught horse skidding saw logs
A draught horse working alone - that is, without a team-mate -
is about as rare now as a horse pulling a plough. To watch these
fine animals work is a visual feat of muscle power we puny humans
can only imagine.
I think I read somewhere that the strongest, fastest man can
develop about 1/ 4 horsepower. Sort of makes you wonder why
horses don’t rule the world ...
